The cage pulley, or also known as the non-torque pulley, is used in instances where there are radical direction changes, and to prevent wire jumping during a winding process.

These pulleys are made of fine ceramic (Alumina Al2O3), with surfaces polished to an ultra-fine Ra0.2 finish.

A high-speed precision bearing can be found within the ceramic roller, which keeps the sliding distance between the enamelled wire and roller below 0.2mm, to protect the wire coating and maintain stability of the wire tension.
